Taka is currently a PhD candidate at Purdue University with graduation expected in August 2021. He will join the MIT Media Lab as a postdoc from September 2021. His research interests lie at the intersection of disaster risk reduction, mobility data analytics, and computational social science. Taka is also a Data Science Consultant at the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery, The World Bank, working on using smartphone location data for urban disaster resilience applications.
