Disaster Mobility Data Network Launch Meeting

Changes in mobile phone technology, notably the near-ubiquity in many places of GPS-enabled smartphones, have altered the ways that response agencies and researchers understand and respond to crises. As this data becomes mainstream in emergency management, key issues of data capacity and data literacy - as well as ethics, privacy, and data protection - become increasingly pressing.

Wildfires, Power Outages, and the Pandemic

The 2021 fire season in California is already being viewed by many with alarm. Widespread drought across the region has produced an exceptionally large amount of dry fuel, particularly in mountainous areas of Northern California, increasing risks for multiple large-scale fires.

Using Human Mobility Data to Inform Pandemic Response Theory and Practice
